Presentation for the 2001 Albany Harbour Swim.

Albany Harbour Swim 2001.

Following on from the Cocos Swim in the previous month, we travelled to Albany for the swim across the bay at Albany. It is a 4km swim.
The accomodation in Albany for the weekend was scarce and we ened up staying at an out of town Caravan Park. Tenting it of course.
It was a big change in water temperature from Cocos Island. We think the bay water temperature was somewhere arount the 15-16°C mark. It was the first time Kim has experienced the onset of hypothermia. There were strange shaped on the bottom of the bay in the last kilometre or so. After the finish the shivering lasted quiet a few hours before the body temperature started to return to normal.
