Great Ocean Road - Day 2
Bimbi Park.
Location
Bimbi Park, 90 Manna Gum Dr, Cape Otway VIC 3233, Australia
Info
We drove the Great Ocean Road with all its road works and narrow barriers from Jan Juc to the Bimbi Park. You drive through the Great Otway National Park not long after leaving Marengo the next town after Apollo Bay.
So, the drive through the forrest which is a Victorian rain forrest. It was a cool 8Β°c in the middle of the forrest and then back to 14Β°c at the Bimbi Park.
The park is on spring water and has limited supplies. (Most of Victoria seems to be on permanent water restrictions). They have coins for the showers at $1 per 3 minutes. π€πΏπΏπΏπ€
The park has electric push bike for hire, a rock climbing facility. Free fire pits although wood is $22 for a decent amount. Horse riding is also available. Taleah on Wednesday before we leave. πππ They have chickens to feed our food scraps.
At this stage feels like a nice place to stay. Very quiet actually. π€π€π€
The only thing left is the shower test. Water pressure, shower head spray radius, room to dry without hitting the walls, soap holder, shower curtain, fluctuation water temperature but the more important things like the number of hanging hooks (4 doubles is ideal), if your things or shoes get wet from shower spray, has a shelf for stuff, the door latch works. πππ
There are many more little thing but the first seems to be the number of hooks then water.

The area is also used for whale watching. π³π³π³ We did not see any whales, but we did see a Wallaby as we left. It was most photogenic for us. Didn't even flinch.

Info
Not much fuel between Apollo Bay and Warrnambool. β½β½β½ A quick calculation indicated that we might only have 100kms left in the tank by the time we went back to Bimbi and then arrived at Port Fairy. Touch and go and no margin for error so we headed for Warrnambool for fuel and food. ππππ
Probably get back to camp late so its Woodfired Pizza in Warrnambool for tonight.

Drive Back To Camp At Bimbi.
Location
Bimbi Park, 90 Manna Gum Dr, Cape Otway VIC 3233, Australia
Info
A night time drive back to the caravan. This is one of the rare times we have been driving at night. This one with put the caravan and not with out excitement.
Compared to the day time drive we hardly saw a car. We did however see a colony of bats fly over the car. π¦π¦π¦ They showed up due to the numerous LED lights now attached to the car. πππ Saw numerous kangaroos on the side of the road.
As we drove through the Great Otway National along the road to Bimbi Park with startled an owl which took off in front the car. π¦π¦π¦ That got everyone's attention and then not more than 50 metres further along the road was a koala crossing the road.It stopped and had a look and then moved off into the forrest. π¨π¨π¨
Further along the road a small kangaroo stopped to look at us while we stopped to look it.
Quote from Aidyn: "This is too much excitement for to handle" π³π³π³
Well that was an exciting finish to yet another long day seeing sights and playing leap frog with bus loads of Japanese tourists.
